If you will be around the beautiful city of Miami this coming weekend, WordCamp Miami 2015 will be happening. This year they are doing things a little different. They are introducing new tracks, a Kids Camp along with three days of activities. Starting Friday, May 29 thorough Sunday May 31.
Friday Beginners Workshop
Friday's sold out Beginners Workshop is for ones that are new to WordPress or have only used it a few times. It will be led by Syed Balkhi and Ptah Dunbar. It will be a full day workshop that isn’t crowded with no more than 90 people. It will be an intimate setting where beginner's can learn in a stress free environment.
The only part of WordCamp Miami that you can still get tickets to, is a full day class is for designers, developers, and anyone wanting to learn more about BuddyPress on Fridday. This mini-conference is all about the popular plugins BuddyPress and bbPress. The day will start with an overview of BuddyPress. Then BuddyPress experts will be there to answer questions about design, scaling, and how to grow a community with BuddyPress and bbPress.
Front-End & WordPress Theme Course
Also on Friday, WordCamp Miami is offering a new full day workshop made just for front-end developers and designers who are already familiar with HTML/CSS but want to improve their skills with WordPress theming. This workshop is to help improve and grow their skills. If you are new to theming and are not comfortable with HTML/CSS then the beginning theming workshops will be more at your level.
New to WordCamp Miami: The How-To Track
On Saturday, the first full day of WordCamp Miami, they are introducing the How-To track. It will be a series of one-hour learning experiences with step by step instructions. Experienced speakers are hand selected for this track to walk through attendees through multiple topics with slides and resources that they will be able to take with them for future use. Our very own Michele Butcher will be there talking about How to Contribute Without Using Code.
WordCamp Miami Developer Track
Saturday will also house a developer track. This however, will not be your normal WordCamp developer track. WordCamp Miami is pushing the boundaries and digging deeper and into more advanced topics. From An Intro to Git to Building Web Apps with WordPress , this will be a great camp for developers who are wanting to grow their skills.
WordCamp Miami Business Track
On Sunday, WordCamp Miami will have business talks that will be aiming toward providing those who want to grow their business with knowledge, slides, videos, documents, and motivation.
