Genesis 1.8.1 has been tested on WordPress 3.4 by the development team at StudioPress and it's smooth sailing. (And it's a secure WordPress theme.)
According to the StudioPress blog, all child themes for Genesis have been upgraded to WordPress 3.4 and running fine. If you're using Genesis, they have given the go-ahead to safely upgrade to 3.4.
That's one of the things I love about StudioPress, only hours after the release of WordPress 3.4, they've already tested their themes and let us know about it.
The development team here at StudioPress is always working with the bleeding version of WordPress. As a result, we can confidently say that there aren’t any major issues with WordPress 3.4 and Genesis 1.8.1.
There is a minor issue we are aware of that occurs on the Theme Editor page, which results in some warnings being display at the top of the page. This will be addressed in an update, but you should be fine to keep running Genesis.

Secure WordPress Theme
WordPress security is a priority for StudioPress and have Genesis framework security audits done. (Another reason I love StudioPress!)
From Mark Jaquith, WordPress Lead Developer:
StudioPress reached out to me to do a security review before Genesis was even released, and I did another review for Genesis 1.7. They were very responsive to my suggestions, and the result is a framework that follows all the WordPress security best practices. It’s clear StudioPress made security a priority when developing Genesis and from a security standpoint, Genesis 1.7 is at the top of its class.

I'm looking forward to reading their next security review.
If you are using Genesis and find any issues with WordPress 3.4, please be sure to report them to StudioPress.
